MEEZAN is a not-for-profit organization founded in Amman in 2011 to design and develop regionally appropriate, sustainable agriculture, water-saving and energy-production solutions to the food, water and energy crises affecting the Middle East.
MEEZAN’s aim is to equip local populations to provide for their own basic human needs and empower them to solve environmental, health, food and water crises. We believe that with the power of knowledge and low-tech solutions, each individual can become a creator and producer rather than a consumer. That is why MEEZAN installations are accompanied with educational workshops to teach the community how to build, fix, grow, harvest, and produce.
MEEZAN projects encourage community-based innovation, include the local communities as well as create new ones: together we can free ourselves from resource dependency and build a more environmentally sustainable and healthy Middle East and world!
